Join Maritime Washington and the Squaxin Island Tribe for lunch as we introduce the Tribal Guide to Maritime Washington!
The Tribal Guide to Maritime Washington is a new website and virtual guidebook that connects you with the water-based stories of Washington’s Tribes in one place: their voices, their waters, their traditions, and the places where you can experience it all firsthand. We’re thrilled to launch this new resource with the Suquamish and Squaxin Island Tribes—two nations whose relationships with the Salish Sea run deeper than any map can show.
At this special launch event, members of the public are invited to explore the new Tribal Guide to Maritime Washington while enjoying lunch and conversation with Maritime Washington and the Squaxin Island Tribe. You’ll leave this event with new opportunities and resources to connect with Washington’s Indigenous seas and stories—including vetted recommendations for adding Tribal destinations into your summer travel itineraries!
A note on timing: this event will begin with a preview for Tribal members and Tribal staff only from 12:00 – 1:00 pm. All others are invited (and encouraged!) to join the public celebration from 1:00 – 2:00 pm.
