Maritime Heritage Returns to Washington State Ferries

July 7, 2026 // Alex

Learn about Washington’s water-based stories, resources, and cultures while you ride the waves this summer!

Back by popular demand, a Washington State Park interpretive ranger is onboard select Anacortes/San Juan Islands sailings this summer, talking with riders and sharing materials about the area’s rich maritime history and natural beauty.

For the second year in a row, Maritime Washington is proud to support this special program in collaboration with Washington State Parks and Washington State Ferries. Together, we’re helping visitors explore our state’s maritime heritage and discover how to enjoy the islands responsibly.
