To support Maritime Washington Partners in their work to celebrate, maintain, and share our state’s maritime heritage, we are proud to offer a limited number of scholarships for partners to attend Maritime Washington events.
NEW FOR 2026: Partners may now apply for scholarships to attend any Maritime Washington events, including field trips, regional meet-ups, and the annual partner meeting. However, scholarships can no longer be utilized for non-Maritime Washington events hosted by outside organizations.
Partners may request up to $750 to cover travel-related costs—including but not limited to mileage, ferry fares, lodging, and meals— related to attendance at Maritime Washington events . Applications are reviewed by Maritime Washington staff on a rolling basis, and there is limited funding available, so we encourage partners to plan well in advance when making their requests.
The fine print:
- Funding will be provided as reimbursement. Recipients must submit receipts to receive payment.
- Each partner organization may receive one scholarship per 12-month period.
- A single scholarship may support multiple staff or volunteers from the same organization attending the same event. For example, if both your Executive Director and a board member plan to attend the annual partner meeting, you may submit one scholarship request to cover both.
- Scholarship funding must be used for events hosted by Maritime Washington.
