Prizes will be awarded for the top entries in two categories: On the Water and From the Shore. The contest is open from Friday, June 6 until Wednesday, July 9. Both winners will receive America the Beautiful National Park Passes and your choice of a Maritime Washington merch item.

Guidelines
- Each entry should have:
- The name of the photographer.
- The location the photo was taken.
- The social media tags for the photographer.
- Entry category is either “On the Water” or “From the Shore.”
- Please note if you would prefer your name or social media tag to not be published.
- While you may slightly edit your images, the judging team discourages over-editing by extreme cropping or color correction. We are looking for images that reflect the scene as it appeared in reality.
- Entries will be judged on the basis of creativity, photographic quality, and effectiveness in conveying the beauty and unique character of Maritime Washington
- The contest is open Thursday, June 5 – Wednesday, July 9
- Winners will be announced by Wednesday, July 23
Rules
- Photo must be of the Maritime Washington National Heritage Area, or within 1/4 mi of Washington’s 3,000+ miles of shoreline.
- Entrants may submit up to two photographs, a maximum of one in each category: “On the Water” or “From the Shore”
- Portrait and landscape photos are accepted.
- Photos are licensed for use by the Maritime Washington National Heritage Area.
- Credit will be given to the photographer whenever possible.
- The Maritime Washington National Heritage Area may use or adapt the photo in any context.
- Prizes are awarded at the sole discretion of the judging committee, made up of Washington Trust for Historic Preservation staff.
- While you may enter the contest by tagging us on social media, you must be a follower and have a public profile in order to be considered.
Each photographer will retain all rights to any photograph submitted–including ownership if applicable–other than those rights licensed in the next sentence. By entering the contest, each photographer hereby grants to the Maritime Washington National Heritage Area (i) a nonexclusive, worldwide, irrevocable, royalty-free license to reproduce, distribute, publicly display the photographs submitted to the Maritime Washington National Heritage Area, and (ii) the right to use the photographer’s name in promotions and other publications.
