Partner Field Trip: Seattle Waterfront

Friday, July 11, 2025
10:00 am - 02:00 pm
Seattle

The removal of Seattle’s Viaduct opened up a wealth of new waterfront space for residents to connect with Puget Sound. Since 2019, the City of Seattle, in partnership with the community and the nonprofit Friends of Waterfront Park, has been transforming this area into a vibrant new public park. As part of this revitalization, a wealth of new interpretive materials will bring the waterfront’s history, culture, and environment to life. Join City of Seattle staff for a guided tour to discover how storytelling and interpretation have been thoughtfully woven into its design and signage. After our tour, we’ll discuss what we’ve learned and how it applies to our own sites with the guidance of expert interpretive trainer Emily Jacobs.

Note: Field trip timing TBA.
