In 2025, the Harbor History Museum opened a new Maritime Gallery, featuring the beautifully restored and interpreted Shenandoah (a 100-year-old, 65′ purse seiner fishing vessel), Thunderbird #1, and numerous other small craft that represent Gig Harbor’s boat building heritage. This field trip will explore the new gallery and how Maritime Washington partners can use exhibits to share our state’s maritime stories. After our tour, we’ll discuss what we’ve learned and how it applies to our own sites with the guidance of expert interpretive trainer Emily Jacobs over a BYO lunch.
Use this form to register for the Maritime Washington Partner Field Trip to the Harbor History Museum in Gig Harbor on Friday, February 20th from 10:30 am - 2:30 pm. Additional details will be provided to registrants via email.
