Join your fellow Maritime Washington Partners in a year-long learning circle for those who share the stories of our saltwater shores.
The Maritime Washington National Heritage Area is home to a vibrant range of stories, and the ways in which those stories are shared with visitors differs greatly. This year, Maritime Washington is bringing together a group of partners to explore how we can best share those narratives and connect residents and visitors alike with our maritime heritage. Through a series of field trips, we will experience maritime sites as visitors and then debrief/discuss how the stories were told. Some visits will also include conversations with local staff (living history interpreters, curators, etc) to hear their challenges and passions. All field trips will be facilitated by Emily Jacobs, former Certification and Training Program Manager for the National Association for Interpretation.
